Mid-November Birding

This time in November is always an interesting time for birding.  There are some late warblers to look for or waterfowl or waterbirds, etc.  Looking back in my notes, every year is quite different.



17 November 2013 Point Pelee:  Parasitic Jaeger, Purple Sandpiper, hundreds of Cedar Waxwings + 1 Bohemian Waxwing.



17 November 2012 Rondeau Park:  several Common Redpolls and White-winged Crossbills, 1 Red Crossbill, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Common Raven (heard only), Eurasian Wigeon, Gray Catbird.





13 November 2011 Point Pelee:  King Eider (m). (no photo)



20 November 2010 Blenheim:  Wilson's Phalarope, Baird's Sandpiper, Osprey



15 November 2008 Sarnia lakewatch:  50 Common Loon, 2 Red-throated Loon, 1 Pomarine Jaeger, 1 jaeger sp., Red Phalarope, Little gull



18 November 2007 Erieau:  Franklin's Gull



18 November 2006 Pinery P.P.:  Western Grebe (self-found!)



17 November 2005 Sarnia lakewatch:  2 Black-legged Kittiwake, Sabine's Gull

(Onion Fields at Pelee!)


18 November 2001 home:  White-winged Crossbill at feeder (long-staying)




This coming weekend looks interesting with the changes in weather!
