River Scenes

As this long winter continues, ships are still being escorted through the thick ice on the St. Clair River.  Late this afternoon I took note of a couple off Port Lambton.

Arthur M. Anderson

Close behind was the Algosteel.

I drove up as far as Sombra to look at the feeding area at the ferry dock.

The ferry has been shut down about a month and will likely be another month the way things are going.   The closing of the Lambton Generating Station has made a huge difference in the amount of open water, at least on the Ontario side.

Here is an historic scene of the old ferry dock from days gone by.

Nothing new on the bird front during these winter doldrum days.  Yesterday I saw two different Snowy Owls along Langstaff Line, so there is something to look for to and from work!
