Shorebirds and Herons near Wallaceburg

Stewart Wetland along the Snye River (Chenal Ecarte) at the west end of Langstaff Line is quite fabulous right now for shorebirds.  It has been getting better with each day.   I check it at least once a day hoping to find something of note.  So far it has just been the usual stuff.
Today was quite noteworthy for Solitary Sandpipers as there were at least 8 or 9 this evening.  Other birds included Pectoral, Least, Semipalmated Sandpipers, and Lesser Yellowlegs.  Spotted Sandpipers and Killdeer were there of course.

Good spot for herons as well.  A pair of Green Herons has been hanging about, and all summer several Great Blues have been there.  I can only hope for a Little Blue!

For shorebirds, a Ruff will suffice for now!  I found one female here in early May 2006. (digiscoped photo below)
