Filler-No Thriller!

Yet another week almost in the bag.  It was quite mild today and many Tundra Swans were going overhead. Just as I was leaving work, about 200 were heading north.  Maybe most will be gone by the first of March already!
Reading the local paper today, another photo of some Mute Swans was shown.  The caption alluded to the fact that many swans did not migrate south this winter (!).  I find that so many people have no idea that Mute Swans are non-native and non-migratory!  But, as usual, papers usually cannot get their facts straight.

Pair of Cans

This week I have already been planning for spring (May) birding.  Setting dates for holidays, Baillie Birdathon and the Rondeau Big Day.  I hope the weather is much better than last year where we saw rain almost every day and cool temps.

There is talk of snow tomorrow, but who knows.  The weather forecast changes every time you listen in, and still comes up different.  I've had enough of winter (what little there was) so spring weather and birds can start now!
