Decided to check on the Yellow-headed Blackbirds this evening. It is nice that they are close to the road this year. Lots are there, and I counted about 10 males and 2 females.
Managed to get a Red-winged beside a Yellow-headed!
It was very windy again, so I did not do much looking around.

New Trail on the Map
Down at Angler Line in the vicinity where we see the Yellow-headed Blackbirds, there is a new waterfront trail. It runs from Angler Line to Mitchell's Bay. It was opened this spring as a result of a partnership with the Municipality and private landowners.

Lots of birds and wildlife can be seen here. Closer to the village is a boardwalk and dock that one can overlook the lake and adjacent marsh areas.
I checked it out this evening and it was quite enjoyable sitting on the dock for a while. Lots of different birds were around.
At one point one of the local foxes came by carrying supper.
Several Forster's Terns and even a Caspian Tern flew by.

Dozens of gulls were out over the marshy islands and large flocks of Mallards came in off the Bay.
I saw all four usual heron types, normal for each time I go out there. Great Egrets, Great Blues, Green Heron and Black-crowned Night-Herons live nearby.
