Birds have been slowly, but surely showing up this week. Various warblers have been recorded and in the last day or so, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and Orchard and Baltimore Orioles have appeared at Erie Beach.
I have been going out to Mitchell's Bay quite regularly since it is close to home.
Wet Mink! |
The Yellow-headed Blackbirds were finally reported yesterday. I was out there and pretty sure I heard one at the end of Angler Line.
This evening in crappy weather, I managed to hear/see two males.
One horrible photo...
There were at the usual roadside marsh like they were last year. However, I do not think they will be as co-operative as last year. They tend to vary in location each year.
Looks like they came in a bit late this year and one had to wonder if we would see them. However, I have never known a year they were not present.
The ever-common Yellow Warblers finally came in this week. We had the one at Rondeau last weekend, but they were all over the last couple of days.
Not much has been at Port Lambton this week, but things seem to bypass there and end up at Canatara Park in Sarnia!
Some Common Loons were migrating today along the river, but that was it for today.
Just before dark today, I checked out Bear Creek Marsh south of town. Four Great Egrets were in including one with green wing tags. I forget where on Lake Huron this colour is used.
This weekend looks pretty good for birding....
Beautiful photos. Greetings from Montreal.
