Late Saturday Update

Just got home from the OFO convention in Leamington.  Another day of field trips is scheduled for tomorrow.  Birding was slow today as one would expect in this good weather.

The juv Laughing Gull was still at Hillman today.  I saw it in the afternoon--a plumage I have not seen before (or not noticed?).
Yesterday a Glossy Ibis was well seen at St. Clair NWA!  Probably the best bird so far.  The Marbled Godwit and Snowy Egret continued at Mitchell Bay despite all the activity on opening day for hunting.

The guest speaker at the convention was Greg Miller who was portrayed in the book and movie the Big Year.  He told the story of his life, events during his big year, and the making of the movie.  It was very entertaining.
Greg Miller, right with Jack Black who portrayed his character

I will leave you with some scenes from the recent trip to Algonquin Park.
