Thursday Report

Another fine day of sun and just plain hot!
Brander Park had a nice influx of birds this morning.  I think the rain hit at the right time early this morning.  Several FOY birds.  12 species of warblers including Tennessee, Magnolia, Ovenbird.....  Most were at tree-top level so difficult to see.

A pair of Indigo Buntings arrived to set up shop.  Great-crested Flycatchers were new as well.

Today was another good day for butterflies with the heat.  Late today I made a quick stop at Reid CA north of here to see what was around.  A Gray Hairstreak was the highlight.

As expected, Juvenal's Duskywings were milling about.

A Silver-spotted Skipper was new for the year.

A few Monarchs were flying through, never settling for a photo.

Not many birds, but a Solitary Sandpiper was on the pathway.

I heard FOY Scarlet Tanager singing in the woods.
Can't wait for the weekend!!
