It has become very cold again. Things are at a standstill right now with nothing moving it seems. And too much snow to go for a walk anywhere! We are having a real winter for a change. It came in like a lion and stayed with the exception of the short mild spell at New Year's. Hopefully the predicted mild weather for this weekend will come to give us a break.
I was going through some old photos and came across some I don't even remember taking! I thought this Red-winged Blackbird photo was neat--sort of framed by cattail stems. Usually by the end of February we start seeing some early spring arrivals. As common as they are, it is nice to see the first ones calling from their perches in late winter.
I think this photo was taken at St Clair NWA almost three years ago.
