Sandhill Cranes

Sandhill Cranes seem to be starting to increase in numbers west of Wallaceburg.  I have seen a few off and on all summer at points west of Wallaceburg.
This morning, 22 were north of Stewart Line.  They were there yesterday according to a friend who lives at this location.
Twenty years ago, Sandhills were a rare bird around here!  They have steadily been increasing in numbers.

Yesterday morning, a Bald Eage was sitting in a field just one concession north.

Just down the road, Stewart Wetland has prime habitat for shorebirds.  There are birds there everyday, but nothing unusual yet that I know of.  Lots of Blue-winged Teal are there right now as well.

At Brander Park, Port Lambton, Fiery Skippers and Tawny-edged Skippers were still flying around.
