More Skippers in the Sedges

Just to satisfy my curiousity, I checked out Reid CA this evening and found some Dion Skippers flying.  These large dark skippers stick to one area of sedges in the area.  They are very similar to Dukes' Skippers, but have more orange on them. I still think I saw some Dukes' in 2008.

I then looked at some Broad-winged Skippers in another type of sedge area.  They are nice looking butterflies.

I still wonder if Mulberry Wing are somewhere nearby.  I haven't found any in that area yet.
Some Giant Swallowtails were flying, so I think new ones have emerged.  It as been a while since I have seen some.

Monkey-Flower

A few very worn Banded Hairstreaks were still out.  The hairstreaks are finishing up a little earlier this year.
Looking forward to the Clear Creek Count this Saturday.  I think we will find some good butterflies!
