Things are slowing down now. A Canada Warbler was nice to see in the yard late yesterday. It was singing too!
I will be at Rondeau this Saturday to see what is lingering around. Still lots to see I am sure.
Last week, this Solitary Sandpiper was hanging around Brander Park, Port Lambton.
Last weekend while viewing birds at Ridgetown Lagoons, I heard the distinct sound of an old airplane approaching. Took a quick photo. I knew it had to be one of the aircraft owned by the Spence family of Muirkirk, so I looked it up. It one of the Harvard class. Lots of these were built over a long period of time. This Harvard Mk II was built in 1941. Many are still around.
I took my lunch over to Brander Park today and noticed lots of butterflies flying. A Common Ringlet was one of the first. I saw lots of these this past Sunday while at Blenheim Lagoons.
One of the better photos of a Snout Butterfly that I have taken:
Always thought this was cute:
Don't ask me how it got in there, but I have seen this on two different occasions at the same spot in Rondeau Park!
