Friday Deluge

It rained heavily all night and flooded fields were everywhere today.  Just typical of our weather--one extreme to the next.  Last week it was too dry.  Not surprisingly, right on schedule, just like clockwork, the winds switched to the NE mid afternoon today.  It is mind-boggling why the winds switch to the NE every weekend!

Another good influx of birds this morning though.  Lots to look at in Brander Park, but the bulk of warblers were still Yellow-rumped.  New for the year was a singing Bay-breasted Warbler.  Least Flycatchers finally came in.  I looked around for about an hour, but nothing else new.  Had to wear boots with all the water!
No photos today.

This evening I toured around to see what these flooded fields attracted.  Nothing of note.  Lots of both yellowlegs, some Pectoral, Solitary Sandpipers and Ring-billed Gulls.

Checking out Rondeau tomorrow.  There have been no reports of a second Yellow-throated Warbler since I saw them last weekend.
