Filler Post

Sunrise at Rondeau

By this time of year, we are anxious for spring to arrive.  Winter never arrived, or spring may already be here!  Hundreds of Tundras Swans have been reported the last day or so near Kettle Point.  Many Turkey Vultures have been sighted this week as the warm weather continues.  Some of these are wintering individuals just moving around, and perhaps some have come from farther afield as March-like weather is with us.
I heard a Cardinal singing this morning at the marina, and Horned Larks were tinkling in the field.

Lots of Canada Geese have been on the St. Clair River, and late today I saw a flock get up at Port Lambton that contained a Snow Goose. Had not seen that one before now!
As mentioned previously, some finches are on the move.  Throughout southern Ontario, White-winged Crossbills have been widely reported and some are still at Rondeau.  Hope to see some tomorrow!
Redpolls are around too!

With the warm weather, we will perhaps have some early butterflies this year.  Some record late's were recorded last fall.

Tomorrow will be another day, and I will be checking out the Rondeau area again.  The sun is supposed to be out, but we will see (you know the drill!).
