Sarnia Way to Suncor Way

With the wacky weather today, I was limited to where I could go.  It was too cold/windy to go walking anywhere, and country roads were bad for drifting snow.  The best bet was to go looking along the St. Clair River to Sarnia!

Still nothing new along the river though.  Guthrie Park at Corunna remains the best spot for seeing ducks and gulls.  I could only pick out two Iceland Gulls among the 1500+ Herring Gulls.  Many have no doubt moved on since earlier in the winter.
Lots of Common Goldeneye were around as well.

Sarnia itself did not offer much as there was too much ice already!  We did not have much all winter, and now that February is about to end, winter is here.
I stopped by Blackwell Trails south pond.  Nothing of note there.  This spot is always open in the winter as there is an bubbling system.

Suncor Nature Way at Modeland Road was the best spot with hundreds of Mallards (plus a good number of American Black Ducks) that were in the ditch.

Also of note was a pair of Wood Ducks, and a pair of American Wigeon showing nicely in the sun (at least the sun was out!).

There was not much else to do, so I headed home.  I went down Waubuno Road to Petrolia Line (almost got stuck), so it was back out to the main road.
Lots of Snow Buntings and Horned Larks today.
