In the park, I just walked around the campground finding the usual things, except Yellow-rumped Warbler. The only thing of note was a Common Grackle at the north end. Not many blackbirds are around this winter, so it had been a while since I last saw one.
I then worked my way over to Erieau where there was lots of activity. Firstly, lots of gulls were around, especially Bonaparte's. Most were feeding in the channel. Maybe 600 bonies, a good number for this date.
Other gulls were on the ice in the Bay. A bit far, so I did not bother to scope them out.
In the marina, it was evident that many coots are once again attempting to winter.
A Double-crested Cormorant was in the marina as well as many ducks and Ring-billed Gulls.
While at the harbour, I noticed a flock of redpolls flying across the point. As well, a Northern Harrier was cutting across weaving in amongst the gulls.
Several harriers were out and about today. I saw this one having an early lunch.
North of Erieau, the young and confused Red-headed Woodpecker now favours pole number 4.

While heading home on back roads, it was still evident that there are not many hawks around this winter.
