Today's Butterflies

Today was gloomy until late morning.  This afternoon was very nice.  Butterflies were out this afternoon, especially at Brander Park, Port Lambton.  There are flower beds there that attract butterflies.  Some dark blue flowers (name eludes me)  there are magnets for butterflies.  I found this out a couple of years ago when butterflies were there in late summer.  Peck's and Tawny-edged Skippers were seen later in September.

Peck's Skipper (earlier)

Today there were many Peck's Skippers, a couple Least Skippers, several Silver-spotted Skippers, Giant Swallowtail, and even Buckeye.  First time I have seen Buckeye there, but they are everywhere this year.
There were also several Common Sootywings.  I am finding sootywings quite abundant this year in several places.  I did not have my camera this afternoon!  I also found some Common Sootywings this morning at the McKellar Tract on Bickford Line.

Up at Perch Creek CA east of Sarnia, there were some Buckeye as well.  I was looking for Leonard's Skipper, but perhaps they are not yet out.
A couple of very worn Great Spangled Fritillaries were flopping around at Perch Creek.
