Low Water

With the ice jam, coupled with lack of precipitation, water levels in the Sydenham River have dropped considerably. Mud has bee revealed in many locations. It would be good for shorebirds in some spots, but of course not many are around yet.

There is a bit of open water north of Port Lambton to Sombra, but south of that the river is packed solid of ice. There is still a lot of ice to come down and it will not disappear quickly with this cool weather.
I noticed lots of Ring-billed Gulls around today. I looked for a Mew Gull, but......
