Erieau Today

Today's destination was Erieau. There was a strong, cold south wind, and lighting was not the best for photography.
Some of the birds included a gathering of about 50 Black Ducks at the rocks. Some American Coots were around as well. One was on a mission.
"Wait for me!!"
A rather attractive Long-tailed Duck was swimming in the channel. This species is somewhat uncommon around Rondeau, so they are always nice to see.

Other duck species included Mallard, Redhead, Canvasback, Greater Scaup, Bufflehead, Ruddy.
I also walked the R/R trail. I could not locate the Northern Waterthrush, so perhaps it has moved on or perished. The usual birds were around there including Carolina Wren, White-throated Sparrow and lots of Cardinals. An unusually large number of Song Sparrows was present there as well. No Common Yellowthroat or Marsh Wren, but they are probably still there.
Some birds in the fields included Snow Buntings, Lapland Longspurs and Horned Larks.
