Very windy and snowy today. The amount of snow was rather unexpected. As usual, the weather forecast was wrong. It seems to be the norm anywmore. One would think weather forecasting could be more accurate with all the technology today, but it appears to be just the opposite. Weather forecasts have been very unreliable in recent times.
I managed to get back from Mississauga (an unexpected early return) before it really got snowy. Roads were slippery starting about an hour's drive east of Wallaceburg. With the wind and very cold temperatures, roads are treacherous right now.
I watched the feeders, but nothing unusual showed up. I have lots of American Goldfinches, but no other finches other than a few House Finches.
A Cooper's Hawk (adult) showed up a couple of times, making the birds scatter. There are always Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawks watching the feeders during the winter. I managed to get a photo of the Cooper's.
It is supposed to be sunny (but very windy) tomorrow. We will see!
Hey Blake.
ReplyDeleteI chickened out and stayed inside on Sturday. Congrats on the Black-throated Gray!
